    One in four people in the UK will experience at least one diagnosable mental health issue in any one year (Health & Social Care Information Centre, 2009). Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the mental health equivalent of physical first aid. providing participants with the skills and confidence to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.

    A chance to complete this in two days, this fully accredited Paediatric First Aid (Child and Baby) course covers practical lifesaving skills and develops techniques for emergency situations with children and babies.     Learn with our expert horticulturalist, how to plan new borders and/or container plant displays in your garden for summer. Find out how to look after and identify plants in your garden. This will include weed identification, lifting and dividing, taking cuttings, fertilising and re-potting. **Please note the following** This is suitable for complete beginners but you should be physically mobile to take part. You must wear sturdy boots or trainers as the ground will be muddy and slippery. This course is suitable for learners who have completed their Level 1 Food Safety and are looking to achieve a higher level of qualification or have completed their Level 2 before and wish to refresh their knowledge.   • 710 - Twiddle Mitts

    Do you support someone with dementia and are looking for an activity you can do together? Join our experienced tutor in making colourful and textured twiddle mitts. Twiddle mitts’ are knitted mittens or hand warmers with beads, buttons and objects sewn on to them. The mitts are helpful for those living with dementia, as having something to ‘twiddle’ helps to calm agitation and restlessness. This course is for people living with dementia and the people who support them.
